The RV industry has experienced remarkable record growth for eight consecutive years, as the RV lifestyle continues to provide families with the ability to travel the country and experience the outdoors, without the hassles of flying and coordinating places to stay.
There are an estimated nine million RVs on the road today, which equates to one in twelve households in the U.S. owning an RV. According to the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA), 2017 RV sales are predicted to surpass an annual shipment total of 500,000 new units. Texas has been and is currently the number one state in RV sales, followed by California and Florida in second and third, respectively.
While RV sales continue to benefit from the baby boomer generation, millennials are also a growing contingent. The research gathered from the Go RVing campaign has determined that the average age of an RV buyer has decreased from 54 years old a decade ago to 45 years old in 2017. With a new generation of RV buyers to help sustain the RV industry for years to come, rest assured that the growing sales trend will only continue.
