Several years ago I read a magazine article that really changed me: “The Left Arm of God” by Tom Verducci. It was about the life and career of Baseball Hall of Famer, Sandy Koufax. At the end of the 1960 season, Koufax had a career record of 36 wins and 40 losses, not exactly Hall of Fame numbers in any league. He was known as an average pitcher with a hot fastball and serious control issues, one of those guys you use simply to fill out your pitching roster, not someone you want pitching game seven of the World Series.
